My general practitioner’s diagnosis of what is wrong with me differs greatly from your chiropractic opinion. How come?
Many of the millions of failed medical patients who consult chiropractors have previously unidentified subluxation related disorders.
How do you know that most of your patients understand the meaning of the term subluxation?
My chiropractic care procedure includes the patient and me identifying the signs of the subluxations. I ask; “What do you call the fault when a bone is out of place, its joints have lost range of motion and it interferes with the function of the nerve?” Almost all give the A grade reply; “Subluxation.”
How did those patients learn about subluxations?
When our patients refer new patients to us they brief the new patient about what we do and why we do it. Our clinic procedure for the orientation weeks of care include; using two videos, selected take home literature. The patients and I discuss subluxations many, many times.
Does it hurt when you adjust subluxations?
The good news is that in most instances adjusting does not hurt. Quite the reverse, being adjusted may give relief to people who are in pain. For the sake of a quite life, I have occasionally adjusted a colicky baby on the breast. They keep on quietly feeding when being adjusted. The bad news is that some acute patients are already in high levels of pain and movement, including adjusting, increases their pain.
Between medicine and chiropractic which profession poses the greater risk of death and injury?
Chiropractic is not anti-medicine. If I break a leg and need a painkiller, or get a raging infection medicine deserves first place. However, it is a two edged sword. The government sponsored epidemic of harm (called iatrogenesis) arising from medical treatment as distinct from the patient’s disorder qualifies medicine as by far the more dangerous profession. Medical iatrogenesis is a leading cause of death and permanent harm. Comparatively, chiropractic is remarkably safe.
Do chiropractors claim that chiropractic is a cure all?
Patients may tell of their medical practitioner ridiculing chiropractic for the use of that claim. I have not heard any of our colleges, our national associations or any of the many chiropractors that I have met in four decades ever promote that claim.
How long do patients have to keep going to you as a chiropractor?
They quit whenever they want to. I have many long-term patients. Personally, my involvement in an auto accident led to good luck. After failed medical treatment, I had a great outcome from chiropractic care. That led to my going to the USA to become a chiropractor. For decades, I have greatly benefited from frequent chiropractic care. I hope to have that for the rest of my life.
How common are subluxations?
I assume that we all exceed our emotional, chemical and/or physical stress bearing tolerance at some time between our birth and death. As far as I can recall, all of my new patients had a symptom or some symptoms. In effect they came to find out; “Do I have a subluxation related disorder?”
However, I have examined many symptom free chiropractic patients who have ‘silent subluxations’. Most of the people that I have examined at schools or health fairs had subluxations. I assume subluxations are a natural part of the human condition.
How many symptoms do your new patients average?
According to a surveyed 1,000 questionnaires, our new patients have at least 8 symptoms.
How do you prove which symptoms are, or are not, subluxation related?
I cannot prove that. In the normal course of my locating and adjusting the subluxations related symptoms reduce or go. Later some symptoms recur with similar subluxation and once again coincidental to chiropractic care reduce or go. At times coincidental to being adjusted, a patient will experience immediate symptomatic relief such as the cessation of a headache. We assume that implies a relationship.
